Fire Safety Assessment Model of AS/RS Rack Supported Buildings Structure
Automatic storage warehouses store a huge quantity of various commodities. This research mainly discusses a model to assess the fire safety of an automated storage system and automated retrieval system (AS/RS) rack supported building structure that is not coated with a fire protective coating material or fire prevention paint. The building structure safety can be assessed by fire dynamics simulator (FDS) software under the fire performance-based concept when it is difficult to conduct the building structure fireproof experiments on various commodities on a kind-by-kind basis. A case study has proven that the assessment model is feasible, and it is critical that the fire performance-based concept to be applied to amend the governments Building Technologies Code.
