Evaluation Index and Method Research for Sustainable Development of Building Industry

Building industry is the pillar industry of our national economy and the one consuming large quantity resources and energy. The sustainable development of building industry is directly related to national and regional sustainable development. In this text, we analyze the meaning of sustainable development of building industry based on the need of sustainable development in national building industry, build the evaluation index system and evaluate comprehensively by operational entropy method from the six aspects as building industry scale, building industry development environment, economic benefit, social benefit, ecological and environmental benefit, resources and energy utilization according to the theoretical basis of sustainable development, design principle and method, aiming at the evaluation need for sustainable development in building industry. The sustainable development coefficient (comprehensive evaluation value of sample data) of building industry can be worked out by normalizing the in dex data firstly, calculating effective value of index information by entropy method to fix the evaluation weight of all indexes. The evaluation result shows that the practical research based on entropy method complies with actual situation of our country, which tells the index and evaluation method is scientific and reasonable.
