Analysis on spatial and temporal Distribution of Shanghai Meteorological disasters from 1951 to 2000
In this paper, Shanghai meteorological disasters characteristics in time and spatial distribution are analyzed from 1951 to 2000. The conclusion is: from the aspect of time, six types of meteorological disasters occurred 518 times in Shanghai, an average of 10.36 times per year; in addition to hail and tornadoes, the other four kinds of weather disasters show a continuous growth trend, at the aspect of spatial distribution, tropical cyclone (typhoon) happens not only in urban areas but also in suburban areas mainly in Chongming, Baoshan, Nanhui and Pudong; rainstorm and flood mostly influence urban areas; strong wind concentrate in Chongming, Pudong, Qingpu and Jinshan; hail is mainly in Pudong and suburban Fengxian, Jiading, Chuansha, Nanhui and Qingpu ; tornado occur mostly in Chongming and Pudong, , followed by Songjiang Fengxian and Jinshan, etc; lightning-strike focus mainly in Nanhui, Chongming and Pudong etc.
