Ecological Sustainability Assessment of Residential Project Based on Extension of Matter-element Model

Concept of sustainable development has been widely accepted in the world. Ecological sustainability assessment for the residential project can provide necessary basis for pre-panned and postevaluation in order to ensure sustainable development of the project in the whole life cycle. Extension engineering method has been applied to ecological sustainability evaluation of residential project and an extension of matter-element model has been built in order to assess the impact of the project on the surrounding environment and the sustainability comprehensively. And then a specific housing project has been analyzed as a case. Studies have shown that the development and construction of residential projects can inevitably cause a certain impact on the local environment and using extension of matter - element model can effectively measure the size of this impact. The result indicates that the model has practicality for the assessment of the ecological sustainability of residential project.
