An analytical method of research on energy based on input-output

Energy is the strategic resource for the survival and development of the mankind and it is also the important substance for sustainable development. This article is an attempt to analyse the energy consumption in an input-output way so as to find out the real situation of energy consumption by various sectors. A model of energy input-output is constructed at the beginning of the article and with the data of the year 1997, 2000, 2002,2005 and 2007 of the 15 national sectors the total energy consumption coefficient for coal, oil, natural gas and electricity is calculated and it is further found out the coefficient for four main energies is gradually decreasing. The coefficient of coal remains the same so the substitution, consumption control and technical innovation of coal is still the important direction of research for our countrys sustainable development.
