A Policy-based Business Driven Network Architecture
While todays Internet carries various information and applications, most proposed network architectures mainly focus on user-relevant issues such as persistence, availability and authenticity, but less consideration on business operation. Nevertheless, for any naming systems or other applications adopted in real Internet, business profit is the ultimate goal for service providers. In this paper, we propose BDNA infrastructure with characteristics of business operation mode, on which all new applications can be easily added like a plug-in; service providers can specify and customize their potential customers flexibly; and users can request their wanted service with the costs they would like to offer. A centralized component named as SC, plays the role of balancing both sides. The proposal of BDNA is inspired by the measurement of Xunlei system, a popular P2P application in China. Xunlei does have taken some preliminary policies to protect the benefits of web sites. Upon BDNA, more policies and strategies can be adopted easily.
