Analysis of Contemporary Aluminum Cycle in China
Aluminum flow diagram was given in this paper, the whole cycle consists of four stages: alumina and aluminum production, fabrication & manufacture, use and reclamation. Aluminum cycle in China in 2007 was analyzed. Materials flow indices of aluminum industry in China from 2003 to 2007 were given, the variations of resources self-support ratio and aluminum scrap use ratio in this period were obtained. Resources self-support ratio in alumina production, aluminum production and the aluminum industry in China dropped, increased and leveled off in general in this period, respectively; self-produced aluminum scrap use ratio of the aluminum industry dropped in general from 2003 to 2007. Net imported Al-contained resources and lost quantities of Al-contained materials in aluminum cycle both increased annually in China from 2003 to 2007. The emphasis on the import/export policy and the reduction of Alcontained materials for the aluminum industry in China in the future were given.
