Characteristics of Porous Core Layer for Controlling Temperature in Bi3+-Ga3+-AL3+Co-doped Erbium-doped Silica-based Fiber
High-concentration erbium-doped fiber (EDF) has been playing a very important role in optical transmission and related devices based optical-fiber. On the grounds of characteristic of modified MCVD technique, the preforms were manufactured by online solution doping technique. The fabrication process of Er3+-Bi3 +-Ga3+-AL3+ co-doped fiber by using modified furnace round heating MCVD is discussed. Especially, the depositing temperature of porous core layer is very significant, the optimum value is 1560-1600℃. Analyzing the effect of increasing concentration of Er3+ by co-doped Bi3+, Ga3+ and AL3+. The highest absorption coefficient of self-made fiber at 1530nm is about 60dB/m, which is high concentration EDF.
