Effects of air entraining agents on performance of autoclaved aerated concrete block with extracted titanium blast furnace slag
Density and diameter of the extracted titanium blast furnace slag of Pangang (TZ) are higher than that of fly ash. When fly ash is taken placed of TZ to prepare aerated concrete blocks, some of air bubble entrained by aluminum powder is easy to incorporate and escape from wet mortar, and accordingly, consistency of wet mortar reduces. So the air entraining efficiency of traditional aluminum powder decreases. A novel air entraining agent, which contains normal air entraining agent of concrete and aluminum powder, is developed to increase the viscosity of mortar, and to enhance the air entraining efficiency for 17 percent higher than that of single aluminum powder. In aerated concrete blocks with high-volume TZ, SEM testing results show that most hydrothermal hydrates are tobermorite and hydration garnet with well crystal. Fly ash globes with vary reaction degree and some of TZ grains without any hydrates can be found among hydrothermal hydrates from SEM.
