Study of Water Permeability of Structural Lightweight Aggregate Concrete
Good durability is very important for application of structural lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC). In this paper, systematic tests of permeability coefficient of LWACs with different mix proportion were done and the effects of cement dosage, water/cement ratio and workability on the permeability were studied. Based on the test data, it can be known that: (1) with water to cement ratio increase, permeability coefficient of LWAC with higher cement content increase more obvious than that of LWAC with lower cement content; (2) for LWAC with same water/cement ratio, higher cement content can result in better LWAC permeability;(3) for LWACs with same water/cement ratio, more cement content can lead to better permeability;(4) for LWACs of higher water/cement ratio, influence of water/cement ratio on permeability coefficient is great than influence of workability of fresh concrete on permeability coefficient.
