3-D Spherical Perfectly Matched Layer for Finite Volume Domain Truncation
To reduce computational area, the 3-D radial perfectly matched layer is proposed. Using a generalized approximate formulation, a spherical absorber modeling is set up. The performance of this absorber is characterized with numerical experiments. As practical application of the technique, a newly designed spiral antenna is simulated. Result is very good agreement with measured data. The excellent performance of the spherical absorber is demonstrated.
