Grid-Cell Combination in 3D-FDTD Modeling of ELF Propagation of the Earth

In this paper, we have developed a model of extremely low frequency (ELF) wave propagation based on an advanced three-dimensional finite difference timedomain (3D-FDTD) method. We have studied the Schumann Resonances (SR) of the earth and three different altitude profiles of conductivity in the lossy EarthIonosphere Cavity. The eigen-frequencies of the model have been obtained, and the global averages of the vertical E, and tangential E, components for these three different conductivity models have been investigated.
