A Novel High-order Scheme for Time Domain Maxwells Equations

A new high-order accurate method (CS-FDTD) for solving Maxwell equations in the time domain is proposed, in which the time differential is discretized by symplectic scheme and the spatial differential b computed with compact central difference approximation. The CS-FDTD method retains much of the original simplicity of the Yee scheme. Theoretical analysis of numerical stability and dispersion is presented and the comparisons of numerical stability, dispersion are provided with traditional FDTD and symplectic FDTD (S-FDTD) method. Numerical result shows that the CS-FDTD is more efficient than the traditional FDTD method and S-FDTD method.
