Antenna with Omnidirectional E-plane Radiation Pattern Based on TE01 Mode Circular Waveguide For Ka Band Applications
An antenna with omnidirectional E-plane pattern is developed for Ka band applications. The omnidirectional pattern is achieved by illuminating an inverted cone with an open-end circular waveguide operating in TE01, mode. A converter which transfers TE,, mode of a rectangular waveguide to TE01 mode of the circular waveguide is also designed as part of the antenna. Simulated resnlts show that the proposed antenna achieves Return Loss levels less than -10dB and omnidirectional radiation patterns in the frequency band form 27GHz to 33 GHz.
