A simulation on flow pattern inside porous plate channels
In this paper, two Newtonian fluids, which run through two opposite porous plate channels and exchange their nano-sized solute contents through the porous channel wall, are simulated by adopting numerical SimpleR (Patankar, 1981) algorithm. The simulation is developed to predict both flow patterns inside two opposite porous plate channels and ultrafiltration pattern along the porous channel wall. In the simulation, by choosing straight channel style pores located on the porous wall, and by considering only none-charged solute particles, the hydraulic permeability of the porous wall is theoretically determined. The streamlines inside the channel, as well as ultra-filtration velocities are outlined in this simulation. Moreover, in order to avoid pore clogging issue in the process of hemodialysis, a practical suggestion is made in the end of this paper.
