Effect of Budwood Irradiation on Fruit Weight of Kutdiken Lemon
We investigated effect of budwood irradiation on fruit weight of Kutdiken lemon that the most important lemon cultivar in Turkey. A total 454 M1 V3 plants and 24 non-irradiated Kutdiken plants as controls were planted to field. For four years, fruit weights of mutant M1V3 and control plants was determined. For 454 mutant plants fruit weight was between 85 g and 246 g, averaging 128 g. For control plants, average fruit weight was 145 g. As a result budwood irradiation mostly decreases fruit weight of Kutdiken lemon cultivar.
