Biochemical Differences between Sound and Creasing-or Oleocellosis-Affected Tissues in Citrus Fruits
Citrus rind disorders and physiological diseases are important factors related to the quality of the fruits, including organoleptic quality and external appearance, and it is under this latter point of view where physiological disorders represent significant losses. Cultivars are affected in different extend by these disorders, and other aspects could contribute to the development of the diseases. Some causes of these disorders remain unknown, and therefore, it is difficult to detect the symptom. Creasing and oleocellosis are two typical disorders affecting albedo and flavedo, respectively. Biochemical differences between sound and affected tissues could help us to get an insight into these disorders.
