D-limonene Content in Juice of Different Citrus Varieties
The d-limonene content in thirty citrus varieties was determined by distillation titration. The results showed that there was a great difference of d-limonene levels in 4 different citrus varieties. In citrus juice d-limonene content was around 0. 003% - 0. 025% , while in the peel the content was 1.95 7. 85g/kg. Based on the study on the effect of different press condition and storage time on the dlimonene content in citrus juice, it was found that all the citrus juice made by FMC citrus juice extractor proved to be a higher limonene content, and the d-limonene content reduced with the prolonging of the storage time. For example, in Hongjiang Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) , the d-limonene content in citrus juice extracted by FMC citrus juice extractor was 0. 052% , while by hand it was 0.006% ; moreover the d-limonene content extracted by FMC and by hand respectively reduced by 0. 030% and 0.004% after four-month storage.
