The Three Gorges Projects Benefits in the Construction of a Harmonious Society
It is presented in this paper that the benefits brought about by the Three Gorges Project has contributed to the construction of a harmonious society. The paper, first of all, points out that the greatest contribution that the Three Gorges Project has made to Chinas economic development and social harmony lies in the fact that the project has been a fundamental solution to the problem of flood control in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, especially in Jingjiang river section. The basic of social harmony is the harmony between human and nature. Flood disasters in the Yangtze River has long been a scourge of Chinese nation. The Three Gorges Project can directly protect a population of 15 million and a land of 1,500, 000 hectares in the affluent Jianghan Plain and the region of the Dongting Lake even stricken by floods with a thousand - year frequency, these regions would avoid the devastating disaster, which soundly proves that the Three Gorges Project is a fundamental project to achieve the harmony between human and nature.
