Ecologically Sustainable Hydropower and Fresh Water Ecosystem Conservation-River on Fire

The Cuyahoga River, located in Ohio in the United States, was once one of the most polluted rivers in the United States. On June 22, 1969, oil and debris floating on the Cuyahoga River caught fire. The fire raged for nearly 30 minutes and damaged the railway bridge over the river, resulting in a damage of about USMYM 50,000. The fire drew the attention of Ohio and the United States to environmental issues and compelled both government officials and the general public to recognize the seriousness of environmental issues. As a result, a significant number of sewage control initiatives were launched, the Clean Water Bill and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement were enacted, and the US Environmental Protection Agency was formed. Singer Adam Again composed a song titled River on Fire based on this incident in 1992. Its one of my favorite songs.
