Thoughts on Converting Floods on the Three Gorges Project into Resources

Floods are both risks and resources. Converting floods into resources is an important part of flood management. Given the rising shortage of water resources, serious water pollution, and undersupply of electric power, its imperative to strengthen flood management. In light of the hydrological properties of the Three Gorges Project, this paper examines the necessity and feasibility of converting the projects floods into resources, maps out the path forward for converting the projects floods into resources, and identifies problems that might occur in the process.
