The Impacts of Wudongde Reservoir Impoundment on Water Environment of River Reach in Panzhihua City and the Countermeasures

According to the program of the impoundment of Wudongde Reservoir in Jinsha River to the water level of 975m, the backwater will reach Panzhihua city, which is an important industry city in Sichuan Province. The river reach of Panzhihua is at the head of Wudongde Reservoir and will be affected deeply by the reservoir impoundment. The effects of Wudongde Reservoir filling on water environment of river reach in Panzhihua was discussed in terms of water environment capacity, water quality of main water intakes, the near-bank pollution belt of VanadiumTitanium Industrial Park, and the water quality risk assessment on pollution accidents in VanadiumTitanium Industry Park Also, the water protection measures were proposed to promote the sustainable use of water resources and the harmonious development of environment construction.
