On the Basis of AHP Evaluating Logistics Risk: A Case Study in a China Steel Manufacturer
This paper aims to develop a model to assess risks of three logistics operation alternatives in the case of China steel manufacturer. Analytical hierarchy process(AHP) was used for finding risk influencing factors. Competence risk and asset risk are more serious than relationship risk. The value of poor competence in supporting customer services, poor competence protection, and poor competence leverage account for the bulk of competence risk. Finally, in term of risk priority, in-house logistics operations showed significant difference from third party logistics service provider and alliance partner. This result is in consistence with nowadays logistics facilities stripping in China big industrial company, thus having useful implications for practical operations.
