Seismic Response for Base Isolation of Storage Tanks with Soil-structure Interaction
In order to study the effects of soil-structural interaction on the seismic response of base isolation tanks and, based on Haroun-Housner model, the translational and rotational spring damper system considered for the foundation soil is simplified as the three-particle mechanical model with the five degrees of freedom to study the seismic response of base isolation tanks with typical height-radius ratio subject to the impact of elastic foundation soil. Results show that: base isolation system of storage tank can reduce the seismic response. In order to obtain the ideal seismic response of storage tanks, it is necessary taken into account to various factors to select the best site, isolation fundamental frequency, damping ratio and height-radius ratio when in the design of different storage tanks.
