Log Analysis and Calculation of Crustal Stress in Qinghai Unan Oilfield

Detailed understanding and mastery of the distribution of crustal stress is needed in the deployment of well pattem of oil-gas field development, optimization of drilling mud, analysis of sidewall stability and optimization of perforation program. Calculation of crustal stress using the logging data is low cost and informative, so we can obtain a continuous stress profile. This article, based on the analysis of many factors that affect the crustal stress, calculates the rock mechanical parameters and pore pressure with Acoustic Logging and Density Logging data and converts the dynamic and static parameters through rock mechanical test. It also determines the various parameters in the calculation model of crustal stress and calibrates the crustal stress by the on-site hydraulic fracturing data. Simultaneously, the Dipmeter log data are used to determine the direction of the horizontal principal stress in the objective layer of the region of interest. Through comparative analysis of the results obtained, the size and direction of crustal stress determined by the analysis and calculation of log data is basically consistent with the results of on-site monitoring of fracturing.
