Research on Mathematical Model for Bio-surfactant Production in Indigenous Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery

In order to further regulate the microorganism community and induce the bio-surfactant production bacteria to be superior species in oil reservoir, study on strategies and mechanisms for activation the bio-surfactant production bacteria was carried out, and a new mathematical model was established for a coupling filed of porous flow field and microbial field. The solution of this model was given too. Reflecting the main mechanisms of emulsification and viscosity reduction in the activation strategies for Indigenous Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (IMEOR), this model represents two-step activation process for the bio-surfactant production bacteria in food chain between aerobic and anaerobic in oil reservoir, and it elaborates the impacts of bio-surfactant on physical parameters, such as interfacial tension, capillary pressure, residual oil and relative permeability. Equations in microbial field impacted by fluid flow could show the variety in indigenous microbial field decided by fluid flow and the collaborative metabolism relationship on biological chain formed by microbe community. This model is a great development for the current mathematical models of the bio-surfactant production bacteria in IMEOR, and it supplies theoretical basis for the study on mathematical model software.
