Optimal Design of Roller Bits
A basic theory and method, main content, functions and features of optimization technology about the cone bit is given in this paper. From the several key areas in bit design, analysis the optimization goal and approach, and its affect on the bit design quality. In view of the geometry and kinematics theory of the cone bit, establish the resolution formula and analysis methods of bit performance to the accurately calculate the structure optimization problem of tooth surface parameters including the gear mesh clearance issues, gear arrangement, pitch distribution;predictive analysis the bit performance to quantify performance indicators about bottom hole coverage, bottom hole track and lateral sliding and others. The defects and limitations issues traditional design methods of the cone bit is solved, and scientificity and reliability is enhanced. The application is simply introduced in the article.
