Analysis on Saturated & Unsaturated Soils Seepage of Yellow River Embankment Under the Condition of Strengthening Former Banquette

Through the predication of the seepage isopotential lines, flow speed vectors and seepage lines etc., at different time under the condition of the flooded Yellow River embankment with former banquette reinforcement using the theory of saturated & unsaturated soil seepage, the position drawing of seepage line, the vector drawing of flow speed, the total water head drawing and the pressure water head drawing are obtained. According to the seepage analysis, the conclusions have been reached such as the former banquette has obviously decreased the effectiveness of seepage lines;the water head pressure has been obviously decreased after the seepage flowing the former banquette;the former banquette wall has decreased the position, flow speed, gradient of the seepage escapement point, thereby it has decreased the destructive power on the seepage to the soil body of Yellow River embankment;can be effective in preventing seepage demolishment including piping, flowing soil, sloughing etc.. At the same time it has reinforced the embankment.
