Stability Analysis of Engineering Slope Under Flood Discharging Atomization Rain

The spillway flood discharge power of Nuozhadu hydropower station, which lies in the middle reaches of Lancang River, is number one in the world. According to the forecast computation achievement about the flood discharge atomizes, the influence of atomization-rain caused by spillway flood discharge on the stability of plunge pools slope is a big problem. The slope is liable to failure in the form of horizontal-push landslide on the condition of rainfall based on the research on fissures combination and forces loaded on them. The block in the slope, which is made up of G222-2 as bottom slip face and f556-1 as back tension facture, is liable to slide when the underground water level is 772.1 meters high according to the calculating results of the start criterion of horizontal-push landslide. Through numerical simulation computation, results show that the start criterion is to be satisfied if there were both atomization-rain and rainstorm over 200 hours all the time. Then the horizontal-push landslide is to happen. In order to keep the slope safe, measures such as slope protection should be put into effect.
