Stability Analysis of Landfill Closure Cover System Based on the Finite Element Method
Closure cover system is one of important parts of landfill construction, it is formed by plant cover surface soil layer, drainage layer and geomembrane. The stability of the closure cover system is very importance to the safe operation of landfill. Closure cover system slope is a composite structure, and the interface of the geomembrane-soil is a potential failure surface of closure cover system, because it there is the pore pressure only in this interface. Based on the fluid-structure coupling computing theory and the finite element strength reduction method, the stability of slope of closure cover system is analyzed under the seepage effect, and influence of the closure cover slope angle, geomembrane-soil interface friction characteristics and groundwater level are considered. The research results will provide reference for the design of closure cover system slope.
