Analysis on Coupling Stress of Temperature and Load for Maintenance of Base in the Asphalt Pavement
Using the three-dimensional analysis software ANSYS, a 3-D numerical model was established for base course maintenance structure of transverse cracks of the semi-rigid asphalt pavement. The model is used to analyzing the coupling stress of temperature and load for base course maintenance structure of the semi-rigid asphalt pavement, under different pavement structures and the material parameters;the mechanics responses of maintenance structure corresponding to maintenance structural sizes, material parameters of pavement maintenance layers, under the coupling stress of temperature and load, were analyzed. The results show that the coupling stress of temperature and load decreases with the increasing of the thickness and modulus of former base course on condition that high, datum and low temperature. The maximum coupling stress of temperature and load was appeared at the interface of present and former base course. The coupling stress of temperature and load were affected by the thickness and modulus of both pavement and sub-grade, but the effect of sub-grade was less than that of the pavement and former sub-base. The analysis results can provide the theoretical basis for the design of maintenance of sub-base in the asphalt pavement
