Influence of Rainfall to the Stability of Foundation Pit
Considering the increasing of pore-water pressures caused by rainfall, a coupled analyses on seepage field and stability of a gymnasium foundation pit was developed with the finite element method and limit equilibrium method. The results indicated that increasing of pore-water pressures caused by rainfall lags behind the rainfall processes, the velocity and influence range of rainfall infiltration relates to soil initial water content. The stability coefficient of foundation pit slope decreases as the rainfall last, and it reduce to the minimum value 2-3 days after the rainfall.
