Study on Initial Energy and Intensity for Coal and Gas Outburst

Coal and gas outburst intensity is an important index of evaluation, because it is of great significance to forecast the outburst strength accurately. In this paper, tons of coal and gas expansion is analyzed theoretically using the gas dynamics theory. Its seen that the gas quantity in the outburst is not only the pre-eolumri gas content, and also have relations with strength coefficient of coal and the initial speed of diffusion. Coal outburst strength under different gas pressure is obtained through self-developed test of coal and gas outburst simulation device. Finally the overpressure quantity from the different positions of outburst mouth can be obtained using the numerical simulation. And the outburst strength can be calculated according to theoretical formula. Finally, it could be made conclusions that the numerical simulation can provide a more accurate prediction of coal and gas outburst strength through comparison with experimental values. The paper provides a new approach for the coal and gas outburst forecast.
