Discussion on the Set of Safety Technology and Engineering Discipline
Both in theory and industrial practice, there is a good reason for changing the discipline name Safety Technology and Engineering into Safety Science and Engineering. What we study in Safety Science and Engineering is accident and scientific principles, and its core issues are the methods and means of preventing accident and loss control which can be used in all industrial sectors. The discipline Safety science and Engineering can be divided into four sub-disciplines, i.e. the natural mechanism and laws for the occurrence and development of an accident, the social mechanism and laws for the occurrence and development of an aceident, the engineering approach for the accident prevention and disposition and the social-science approach for the accident prevention and disposition.
