The Characteristics, Problems and Future Prospects of Regional Economic Integration in Northeast Asia
The article discusses the characteristics, problems and future prospects of regional economic integration in Northeast Asia. While the Northeast Asian countries have recognized the importance of regional economic integration and strengthening cooperation, but the integration process is still slow. Northeast Asia has some of the features, such as, strong internal complementarity, large differences in economic and political conditions, strong common market system, better hardware infrastructure. However, within the region, economic base and background of social systems is complex, and for the historical reasons, the parties are lack of trust makes sense, and regional cooperation is subject to outside influences. To expedite the process of integration in Northeast Asia, the regions should establish a mutual trust within the coordination mechanisms, play to the comparative advantages of each region,pay attention to the differences in the development of industry, and develop the key cities.
