An Empirical Study on the Industrial Environmental Technological Efficiency in China
This essay, based on the outcome, energy cost and SO2 emission of 28 manutactunng industries from 2001 to 2007, improves the environmental technology function and environmental directional distance function, calculates the efficiency of environmental technologies of different industries and has a regression analysis into the factors which impact the efficiency of environmental technologies. The result shows that the general envtronmental technologies efficiency in China’s manufacturing industries is low but the environmental efficiency of many industries is rising. Among the factors which impact the efficiency of environmental technologies, scientific investment and economical development boost the progress of efficiency of environmental technologies. Medium and small size enterprises are found easier to improve the efficiency and FDI enterprises might bring severe pollution.
