High-throughput screening of oxide-based catalysts for low-temperature Diesel soot oxidation
Introduction Following the development of a high-throughput procedure to test rapidly Diesel soot combustion catalysts 1, this work presents the screening of a large catalyst panel, based on simple and mixed oxide formulations. Experimental The mixed oxides were synthesized by the citrate-gel method. Catalytic tests were performed in a 16 parallel reactors bench. The catalytic performances were evaluated as the soot ignition temperature (Tign), which was monitored by thermocouples placed inside each catalyst/soot bed. The reactors were loaded with a mixture of 40 mg soot and 400 mg catalyst in tight contact. The soot samples have been collected in the exhaust stream of a 2.2L Renault Diesel engine after an oxidation catalyst.
