BiVO4/TiO2 Nanocrystalline Heterojunction: A Highly Active Photocatalyst towards the Oxidation of Gaseous Benzene under Visible Light Irradiation
Introduction Benzene is regarded as the priority hazardous substance because of high toxicity and confirmed carcinogenicity. Currently, the hot strategy for the removal of organic compounds is to couple TiO2 with narrow band gap semiconductor. BiVO4 is known as a visible-light induced semiconductor. Herein, BiVO4/TiO2 heterojunction photocatalyst was found to present high activity and good stability towards the gas-phase photocatalytic mineralization benzene under visible light irradiation (λ>450nm).
