Mechanim of Photooxidation of Alcohol over Cu/Nb2O5
Introduction We previously reported that photooxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds proceeds over niobium oxide with high selectivity to partial oxidation products without organic solvents. The catalytic activity and apparent quantum efficiency were remarkably enhanced by addition of a small amount of copper to Nb2O5. In this study, the photocatalysis and reaction mechanism of Cu/Nb2O5 were investigated by means of spectroscopic techniques and kinetic analysis.
