Gold Nanoparticles Stabilized by Functionalized Ionic Liquids Incorporated in Periodic Mesoporous Organosilica

Gold nanoparticles (GNPs), which are attracted much attention in the last decades, are often used as a catalyst for CO oxidation at low temperature. Here, GNPs supported by mesoporous silicates were prepared using disulfide, tetra-sulfide and thiol as a stabilization reagent, respectively. Three hybrid inorganic-organic mesoporous silicates of SBA-15 were synthesized by one pot hydrolysis and condensation reactions of organosilica precursors containing sulfide group and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) in the presence of P123.
