THE EFFECTS OF POTASSIUM ON SOOT OXIDATION OVER K/Co3O4 UNDER LOOSE CONTACT

Introduction Preferential catalytic soot removal in catalytic filters at the relatively low temperature of the exhaust gases(200-450℃) is still a major technological challenge. Potassium has been usually utilized to promote the soot combustion by forming lower melting compounds or eutectics that increase the catalyst-soot contact . In this papre, the role of the potassium on carbon black (CB) combustion over K/Co3O4 catalysts under loose contact was investigated.
