REGENERATION OF FIELD-SPENT ACTIVATED CARBON CATALYSTS FOR LOW-TEMPERATURE SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION OF NOX WITH NH3

Introduction Considerable research efforts have been devoted to the development of low temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3. The most widely studied catalysts include activated carbon, active carbon fibers, metal oxides and carbon fiber-supported metal oxides 1-2. In the production of liquid crystal displays (LCD), low temperature SCR is used to remove NOx; however, it deactivates rapidly primarily due to the deposition of boron discharged from the process onto the catalyst. Therefore, this study aims to develop an optimal regeneration process to remove boron from the field-spent carbon catalyst.
