NOx storage behavior and sulfur resistance of CeO2 supported Ba, Co containing catalysts

Introduction The lean-burn engine is thought to be one of the promising candidates to meet the energy crisis and prevent global warming for its good fuel economy and low greenhouse gas emission 1. The NOx storage reduction (NSR) as an effective lean-exhaust treatment technology has gradually attracted peoples attention 2. A well known NSR catalyst is Pt/Ba/Al2O3 system. Considering ceria possesses many advantages, its application in NSR catalysts as a support was investigated in this study. Furthermore, the adoption of Co as an oxidative component was also studied to give a comparison with conventional Pt containing catalyst.
