ONE-POT MULTICOMPONENT SYNTHESIS of 3,4-DIHYDROPYRIMIDIN-2(1H)-ONES USING SILICA-SUPPORTED PREYSSLER NANOPARTICLES AS A NOVEL, ECO-FRIENDLY and GREEN CATALYST

Introduction In recent years, interest of organic chemists has focused on the applications of nanocatalysts and along this line, polyoxometalates (POMs) are attracting much attention. In this context, nano Preyssler heteropolyacid with formula of NaP5W30O11014-, as solid acid and green catalyst have attracted much attention in organic synthesis owing to their easy work-up procedures, easy filtration, and recyclability. Dihydropyrimidinone derivatives have attracted considerable interest in recent years because of therapeutic and pharmacological properties nowadays. In continuation of our success in work with Preyssler heteropolyacid as a green catalyst, herein, we report a mild, practical, and highly efficient procedure using nano Preyssler heteropolyacid as nano catalyst, for one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-ones.
