Technology Innovation and Geographic Organization Choice of Production
We have developed a model to investigate the effects of technology innovation on geographic organization choice,and some risks followed by it.Increase in profits and reduction in the resource requirement by adapting related innovation could spur the increase of motivation of choice of geographic organization of production to minimize the costs.Firms in lower cost region can develop the capacity of innovation through learning by doing and even investment in R&D during this course.But risks that outsourcing/offshoring firms bear,like information leakage,occur.Anymore,geographic organization choice of production might benefit all factors of mother country and when offshoring/outsourcing is possible,the traditional tenets of trade must meet challenge.We have analyzed the coping strategies,such as adoptingtrusting partners within a system relying on the social controls perspective and some vital measures that managers or government could attempt to control these risks.
