An Analysis on the Industrial Trend of Chinas Oversea Direct Investment
The development process of Chinas oversea direct investment (ODI) is short and its scale is relatively small.Although the investments have increased range of industries, expanding from traditional industries to high-tech ones and other emerging services,the structure of overall investment is still irrational.The regional location of Chinas ODI is also comparatively concentrated,most of which is concentrated in Asia and Africa.Private enterprises have low participation and failed to grasp the core technology,therefore most of the enterprises involved in foreign investment expand their international market by price competition.Faced with the increasingly serious international situation,China has to develop some rational plans on ODI,to select some key industries such as resource-type industries, manufacturing and emerging services,and improve the industrial chains in the regions that accept the investments.
