An Empirical Study on the Ownership Structure and the Corporate Governance Performance in Chinese Transnational Corporations
This paper empirically studies on the relationship of the proportion of state-owned share,the proportion of corporate shares,the proportion of outstanding shares,and the corporate governance performances,based on the 2006-2008 years of data from 32 Chinese transnational corporations in energy and manufacturing industries.The results show the positive correlation between the proportion of stateowned share and the corporate governance performances in Chinese transnational corporations after the split-share reform,no linkage between the proportion of corporate shares and the corporate governance performances, U-relationship between the proportion of outstanding shares and finn performance in which performance is decreased with the higher proportion of outstanding shares and increased with the proportion of outstanding shares increasing after passing the extreme point.To conclude, the proportion of outstanding shares and the corporate governance performances are in the positive correlation in Chinese transnational corporations after the split-share reform.
