MNCs Embeddedness and Clustering Effect An Empirical Analysis Based on the Coastal Development Zones of China
This paper discusses the MNCs embeddedness and the evolution process and development mechanism of the industry clusters in Chinas coastal development zones by empirical analysis.It holds that the content of embeddedness of MNCs is much richer and more meaningful than localization.The thesis indicates that the industry clusters in Chinas coastal development zones have been developing advanced with the deepening of MNCs embedment in these areas.The MNCs embeddedness and the modem industry clusters are co-exist and interactive evolution which creates a miracle in coastal development zones.In this paper,interactive evolution model is brought out to illustrate the relationship between the MNCs embeddedness and the industry clusters in development zones.It also points out that the MNCs embeddedness is the driving power for the development of industrial clusters in coastal development zones,and the functional mechanism is as follows:the associated economic effects,the technology spiUover effects,the social capital effects and the institutional changes effects.
