Developing A Framework for Just Performance Appraisal Systems in TNCs
The justice of performance appraisal system in TNCs is essential because conflicts arise more frequently in multicultural corporations. This study argues first of all that Leventhals (1980) 7 procedural justice components and 6 procedural justice judgment rules are reasonable as a framework of performance appraisal system in TNCs.Then,we confirm that the components and rules proposed by Leventhal are supported by other studies. Finally, after comparing the characteristics of components and rules,we contend that the 7 procedural justice components are more reasonable than the rules as a framework of performance appraisal system. The framework developed in our study can be used directly in TNCs.Moreover,we can also analyze whether or not a performance appraisal system is just through the framework developed in this paper.
