An empirical study on the industrial conglomeration efforts of the FDI of MNCs in China
The conglomeration efforts Of FDI refer to an externality made by the MNCs.As the MNCs crushing into the host countries and gradually strengthening cooperation with local enterprises,the industrial structure then will be upgraded and the technology flows out.Then an innovative effort will feather and thus leads to an externality.This paper does the regression analysis of the 15 industries in China from 1999 to 2008 and the result shows an obvious gap among these industries.The results are as the followings.First,FDI shows an obvious conglomeration effort on the industries in a whole.Second,nine industries such as extractive industry and manufacturing industry show a positive conglomeration effort.In the case,the FDI runs well in our country and the innovative system has been taken shape.Third,the conglomeration efforts of such six industries as agricultural industry,forest industry,animal husbandry and fishing industry take a negative conglomeration effort thus there is no conglomeration effort in among these industries.In addition,it also means that the capability of absorbing FDI is very week.
